Yes — the 2022 Kia Soul earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2022 model also brings a newer chassis, updated technology, and current safety features, which can help reduce the compromises that sometimes come with older used vehicles. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 142 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,007 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $19,455 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,520 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future resale. On one hand, it may give you a better entry point today, which helps if you plan to own the car for several years. On the other hand, a lower current market value can limit how much room there is for appreciation later. The Soul’s practical packaging and distinctive appeal should still help it attract shoppers who want something small, useful, and easy to live with.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,006 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,455 CAD average.
• It adds styling updates and a broader Canadian trim line-up.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its current feature set. Consider the 2023 if you want the newer updates and are willing to pay more for them. If price matters most, the 2022 is the smarter starting point.
