Used 2024 GMC Canyon for Sale nearSaskatoon, SK

How much does the 2024 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 6.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 187 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon a good car?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is a strong fit if you want a midsize pickup that feels more upscale and more capable than many rivals, though its price and packaging trade-offs matter. It earns a 3/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Its cabin materials quality is excellent, and the truck’s standard equipment is unusually rich for the class. The trade-offs are a shorter bed than competitors and a cramped back seat, and the truck is expensive.

The market shows 35.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is built around a strong turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder and a well-matched eight-speed automatic, and our experts describe the powertrain as robust. The truck also rides and brakes well, with road noise impressively well dampened.

That said, the fuel-economy picture is weak, and the truck’s premium positioning means you are paying more for the package than many midsize-truck shoppers may expect. GMC also makes some desirable equipment available only on higher trims or through packages.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Canyon’s operating costs and option pricing can stay high even after the initial purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation comes closest to a work-truck setup, while the AT4 aims for more off-road capability, the Denali leans luxury, and the AT4X doubles down on dirt-focused intent. The base trim still gets cloth seats, keyless entry, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, but some comfort features are only available rather than standard.
• Powertrain: Every trim level gets the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. In Canada, every trim level comes standard with 4WD, with a single-speed transfer case on the Elevation and a two-speed transfer case on other trims.
• Safety package: The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require the Canyon Safety Plus package on an Elevation.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Denali and AT4X also benefit from a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel consumption is a weak point, with ratings of 13.2 L/100 km in the city, 10.9 on the highway, and 12.2 combined. An AT4X AEV tester was rated at 14.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the entry point, but it still brings a surprisingly strong standard equipment list, including cloth seats, keyless entry, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen. It makes the most sense if you want the Canyon’s core capability and tech without stretching too far on price.
• AT4: This is the best-value choice if you want a more off-road-focused Canyon without jumping to the top end. It adds a more rugged character and sits between the work-oriented Elevation and the luxury-leaning Denali.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most upscale cabin feel and a more premium presentation. It suits you best if comfort and refinement matter more than trail hardware.
• AT4X: This is the most capable off-road version, and the AEV package pushes it further with 35-inch all-terrain tyres, beadlock-capable wheels, steel skid plates, and extra lift. It is the right pick if you want the Canyon’s most serious hardware and can live with the price.

The AT4 and Denali come with an auto-locking rear differential, while the AT4X adds driver-selectable front and rear lockers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers: there is enough inventory to shop around, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 187 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $51,406 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $51,406 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,938 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon has become a little easier to buy than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may face more pressure to price competitively if the market stays soft.

The truck’s premium positioning and strong equipment list should still help it hold appeal with shoppers who want a more upscale midsize pickup. Even so, the current trend points to a market that rewards clean, well-priced examples more than optimistic asking prices.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2024 GMC Canyon earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact tests from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. On lower trims, some advanced driver-assistance features are bundled into optional packages rather than included as standard equipment.

That means you should pay close attention to the exact safety equipment on any used example, especially if you are looking at an Elevation trim.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.
• The new AEV package adds serious off-road hardware to the AT4X, including 35-inch tyres, steel skid plates, and a full-size spare tyre.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,564 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $51,406 CAD average.
• It introduced the redesigned Canyon with a more upscale feel and strong tech.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version with the AEV package available and you value the 2024’s current market softness, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one with the equipment you want.
