How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 7.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 496 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, fuel efficiency, comfort, modern technology, and value for money. The main trade-offs are that some drivers want more power and more interior space, and the expert review also points to the lack of all-wheel drive and the cabin’s ergonomic design as drawbacks.

For you, that makes the Trax a strong fit if you want an affordable small crossover that feels more modern than the old formula and is aimed at shoppers moving out of discontinued small cars. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling package, with praise for comfort, fuel efficiency, and value that suggests you can count on it as an everyday commuter. The expert drive notes that the Trax’s powertrain and suspension are well sorted, and that the vehicle delivers a refined, predictable driving experience for its class.

Chevrolet also backs it with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some shoppers may still wish for more power, more space, or all-wheel drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LS models are the most basic, with 17-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, Evotex upholstery, and a larger 11-inch touchscreen. If you want the best value, the LT and 1RS sit in the middle of the range, while Activ and RS focus more on styling.
• Powertrain: You get one engine choice: a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive only. The engine is tuned for responsive everyday driving rather than outright performance.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional, so check carefully for feature gaps on the trim you’re considering.
• Infotainment: LS and 1RS trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while LT, 2RS, and Activ models upgrade to an 11-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and wireless phone charging is offered on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Trax at 7.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 8.3 city and 7.4 highway.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 5 trim levels: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Trax experience at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and are comfortable with the smaller 8-inch touchscreen and more basic cabin materials.
• 1RS: This trim adds a bit more style without jumping all the way to the top of the range, making it a sensible step up if you want a more distinctive look while staying relatively value-focused.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the larger 11-inch touchscreen, the 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and additional rear-seat USB ports. It’s the sweet spot if you want the Trax to feel properly modern.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance and the upgraded tech package together. It suits you best if style matters as much as equipment.
• Activ: This is the trim to consider if you want the more rugged-looking version with the same upgraded screen and cluster setup as the other higher trims. It’s the right pick if you prefer a more distinctive exterior theme.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so check the equipment list carefully on any trim you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should have some room to shop around without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 496 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,832 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $23,849 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,671 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. The year-round low of $23,832 CAD also shows that the market has already established a fairly tight value band, so resale performance may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market swings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional, so you’ll want to confirm which features are fitted on the used example you’re considering.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the range, so lower trims may leave you wanting more equipment. The Teen Driver system is standard as well, which adds another layer of oversight for households with newer drivers.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Trax is a totally revamped second-generation model with more style, more technology, and a more modern feel than the old version.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern Trax experience, the 2024 is the one to target because it brings the redesign, the updated tech, and strong owner satisfaction. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you can still focus on the best-equipped examples within this year’s range and look for a listing near the lower end of the market.
