Is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It stands out as a midsize pickup reshaped around recreation and lifestyle use, with easy-to-use technology, refined on-road handling, and impressive off-road handling. The trade-offs are that the cabin materials are drab and there is only one cab/bed style, so flexibility is limited. It also carries a high price, so you are paying for a more polished and better-equipped truck.

With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Colorado is presented as a modern, well-equipped truck with strong capability and a broad range of technology, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain is described as solid and responsive at low speeds, and the truck’s overall package is aimed at buyers who want a current-feeling midsize pickup.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that its premium positioning can make repairs, upkeep, and depreciation more painful if you buy too high.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the base model, but it still includes a fully digital instrument panel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio. It still keeps cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats, while the LT adds alloy wheels, a remote locking tailgate, rear air vents, a rear USB port, and a full front centre console. The LT Convenience Package adds fog lights, the EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, a sliding rear window, a tilt-telescope steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
• Powertrain: The Colorado comes exclusively with turbocharged four-cylinder power. The base version makes 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the Turbo Max version makes 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Both use an eight-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: The Colorado includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Teen Driver. The LT Convenience Package III adds reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available on certain trim levels.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, an 11-inch fully digital instrument panel, two front USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio. The LT adds wireless device charging and a rear USB port.
• Fuel efficiency: The base RWD version returns 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.9 on the highway, and 10.9 combined. The 4WD version returns 12.7 L/100 km city, 10.8 highway, and 11.8 combined. The standard ZR2 returns 14.1 L/100 km city, 13.8 highway, and 14.0 combined, and the ZR2 Bison returns 14.8 city, 15.1 highway, and 14.9 combined.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it is still well equipped with the digital instrument panel, the 11.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live with the basic cloth seats and manual front adjustments.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it adds useful everyday upgrades like alloy wheels, a remote locking tailgate, rear air vents, a rear USB port, and a full front centre console. If you want the smartest balance of comfort and equipment, this is the one to target.
• Trail Boss: This is the first clear off-road step, with a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, hill-descent control, and an automatically locking rear differential. It suits you if you want more trail focus without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Z71: This trim keeps many of the off-road-oriented chassis enhancements while adding unique cloth-and-synthetic-leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, and red front recovery hooks. It is a good fit if you want a more polished off-road-leaning truck.
• ZR2: This is the most trail-ready version, with more serious chassis upgrades, remote start, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-assisted tailgate, and a spray-on bed liner. Choose it if off-road capability is your priority.

The LT Convenience Package III adds reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 211 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $46,923 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $47,982 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,049 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may pressure future resale returns if you buy near the top of the range. If prices stay closer to the current average than last year's level, sellers may need to be more realistic when it is time to trade in or list privately. The good news is that a well-equipped, desirable truck can still hold attention when demand stays steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns four out of five stars for frontal crash testing, five out of five stars for side crash testing, and three out of five stars for the rollover test from NHTSA.

The LT Convenience Package III adds reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available on certain trim levels, and the ZR2 is available with an underbody camera.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?
