Is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It stands out as a midsize pickup reshaped around recreation and lifestyle use, with easy-to-use technology, refined on-road handling, and impressive off-road handling. The trade-offs are that the cabin materials are drab and there is only one cab/bed style, so you give up some flexibility. It also asks you to pay a premium for the polished experience.

With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Colorado is presented as a modern, well-equipped truck with a strong focus on capability and technology, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain is described as solid and responsive at low speeds, and the eight-speed automatic does a good job of managing power. The truck’s sophisticated suspension hardware also points to a robust engineering approach.

Chevrolet also includes useful ownership-friendly tech and safety features, which can help reduce stress over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher purchase prices and rugged-use hardware can make upkeep and ownership costs feel less forgiving.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the most basic version, but it still includes a fully digital instrument panel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio. It does keep cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats, so you may want to step up if you want a more polished cabin. The LT adds alloy wheels, a remote locking tailgate, rear air vents, a rear USB port, and a full front centre console, and it becomes especially appealing with the Convenience Package upgrades.
• Powertrain: You get turbocharged four-cylinder power only, with a 2.4-litre base engine making 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or the Turbo Max version making 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Both use an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the stronger engine is the better fit if you want more confident acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Teen Driver. The LT Convenience Package III adds reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, while adaptive cruise control is available on certain trim levels.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus an 11-inch fully digital instrument panel. You also get two front USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio, while higher trims and packages add wireless device charging, more USB ports, and wall-style power outlets.
• Fuel efficiency: The base rear-wheel-drive version returns 11.8 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 on the highway, and 10.9 combined. The four-wheel-drive version returns 12.7 L/100 km city, 10.8 highway, and 11.8 combined. The standard ZR2 returns 14.1 city, 13.8 highway, and 14.0 combined, and the ZR2 Bison returns 14.8 city, 15.1 highway, and 14.9 combined.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it is still well equipped with the digital instrument panel, the 11.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and satellite radio. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live with the more basic cabin materials and manual front seats.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades like alloy wheels, a remote locking tailgate, rear air vents, and a rear USB port. If you can stretch further, the LT Convenience Package makes it feel much more complete with fog lights, the EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, a sliding rear window, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, wireless device charging, heated front seats, and more.
• Trail Boss: This is the trim to consider if you want a more off-road-focused setup, with a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, hill-descent control, and an automatically locking rear differential.
• Z71: This trim keeps many of the off-road-oriented chassis enhancements while adding a more upscale feel with unique cloth-and-synthetic-leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, and red front recovery hooks.
• ZR2: This is the most trail-ready version, with even more off-road capability, remote start, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-assisted tailgate, and a spray-on bed liner.

The LT Convenience Package III is the key safety-package upgrade to watch for, since it adds reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines easy-to-use technology with refined on-road handling and impressive off-road handling.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $43,435 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $48,050 CAD average.
• It delivers a modern crew-cab setup with strong capability and a clear off-road focus.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $52,128 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $48,050 CAD average.
• It adds broad appeal with a powerful standard engine and off-road-friendly option packages.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of the Colorado’s modern design and tech, the 2024 is the cleanest choice. If price matters most, the 2023 is the better value path, while the 2025 makes sense if you want to pay more for the newer model-year alternative.
