Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 6.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 455 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 from owners, which is a strong satisfaction signal for this truck. The expert rating is 7.83/10, and the Tacoma scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Tacoma is a ground-up redesign that gives you a more modern starting point while keeping the truck’s familiar appeal intact. It still leans into durability and capability, and it adds standard advanced driver-assistance tech from the outset.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the cabin is noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior remains functional rather than especially plush, even in the top trim.

With 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tacoma’s reputation for reliability remains a major draw, and the redesign does not move it away from that core identity. Toyota’s new platform, standard 4WD in Canada, and updated steering hardware all point to a truck built around durability and everyday dependability.

The expert drive notes also highlight smooth shifting from the automatic transmission and a chassis that feels more composed than before, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. The fuel-economy estimates are competitive for the class, and Toyota’s longevity reputation adds to the case for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the truck’s basic toughness and more about living with its noisy cabin and utilitarian interior over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard truck keeps a familiar Toyota truck look, while the TRD Off Road packages add 17-inch off-road alloys and the Premium packages bring heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats plus a 14-inch centre display. The base setup is more functional than plush, so you should check whether the features you want are present on the specific trim you’re considering.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder i-FORCE engine makes 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, with 4WD standard in Canada. The eight-speed automatic is described as smooth, while the six-speed manual has a high bite point that can make low-speed manoeuvring awkward.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, an emergency stop system, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. There are no trim-level gaps noted in the safety content.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, while the Premium packages get a 14-inch centre display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system is described as responsive and legible.
• Fuel efficiency: The automatic is estimated at as low as 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the manual is expected to use 11.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 2 trim levels: TRD Sport and TRD Off Road.

Here's the short version:

• TRD Sport: This is the better fit if you want the more road-focused package, with sport-tuned shocks and the standard Tacoma hardware that keeps the truck modern and usable. It suits you if you want the redesigned Tacoma without leaning too far into off-road equipment.
• TRD Off Road: This is the one to choose if off-road capability matters most, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and 17-inch off-road alloys. It is the best-value choice if you want the Tacoma’s rugged character to be the priority.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, so you do not need to move up for the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 455 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,748 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $53,748 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,601 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Tacoma’s strong reputation and broad appeal should still support demand, especially among shoppers who value durability and capability.

Because the truck is newly redesigned, some buyers may be willing to pay more for the latest version, but resale will still depend on trim, condition, and equipment. Well-equipped examples with the right features should hold attention better than stripped-down trucks.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which adds Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, an emergency stop system, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The new standard active driver-assistance features are a meaningful step forward for the Tacoma, and they help bring the truck into the modern age of Level 2 driving aids. Toyota also notes that the new electric power steering supports additional safety technology.

Official crash ratings were not yet available at the time of testing, so you should focus on the standard safety equipment and any future test results when comparing used examples.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, standard advanced driver-assistance tech, and a more modern infotainment setup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $47,974 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,748 CAD average.
• It offers a strong reputation and a clear personality.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the redesigned Tacoma’s newer platform, stronger tech, and standard safety upgrades. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 remains the value play, especially if you want Tacoma toughness without paying for the newest version.
