Used 2023 Honda Pilot for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2023 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 7.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 174 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Honda Pilot a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Honda Pilot earns a 4.42/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for family shoppers. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, comfortable ride, and room for up to 8 passengers, and they also like the stylish design and family-friendly practicality. The main trade-offs are that some owners found the engine less satisfying on torque and fuel efficiency, and the infotainment system drew criticism for being underwhelming.

That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a fully redesigned midsize three-row crossover that prioritizes comfort, convenience, and usable space, with an off-road-capable TrailSport model for buyers who want more versatility. With 21.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free family SUV that people feel good about living with over time, especially because of its spaciousness and comfortable everyday character. The expert evaluation also describes the Pilot as easy to live with and well suited to daily family duties, which supports the impression of a vehicle you can count on.

Honda’s maintenance and ownership approach also helps the case for durability, since the Pilot is positioned as a practical, family-focused SUV rather than a complicated luxury model. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that average fuel economy and some complaints about engine response could make it less satisfying if you want stronger efficiency or more punch.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Sport trim is the starting point, but the EX-L adds leather upholstery, a universal garage door opener via HomeLink, second-row sunshades, and more of the useful safety and technology content. The Touring and Black Edition trims add the stowable second-row centre seat, which is a meaningful family-use feature if you need maximum flexibility.
• Powertrain: You get an all-new 3.5-litre V6 with 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard i-VTM4 all-wheel drive in Canada. The setup is tuned for comfort and everyday usability rather than sporty driving, and the TrailSport adds a 2.5 cm lift and all-terrain tires if you want more capability away from pavement.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic-jam assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Front and rear parking sensors are added on the EX-L and higher trims, while the Touring trim adds surround-view and multi-view camera systems.
• Infotainment: You’ll want at least the EX-L if tech matters to you, because that trim brings the larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. USB ports in every row require the Touring trim, which also adds a multi-view camera system, head-up display, and fully digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 12.4 L/100 km city, 9.3 highway, and 11.0 combined for the AWD Pilot. The TrailSport is rated at 13.0 L/100 km city, 10.3 highway, and 11.8 combined, while the Touring is rated at 12.7 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway, and 11.2 combined.

Which 2023 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it’s the trim where you’re most likely to feel the feature gaps versus the higher versions. It makes sense if you want the Pilot’s core space, comfort, and standard safety equipment at the lowest starting price.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim. It adds leather upholstery, HomeLink, second-row sunshades, the larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger, making it the sweet spot for most used buyers.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you genuinely want the off-road-capable version. It adds a taller ride height, all-terrain tires, and skid plates, so it’s the right pick if you plan to leave pavement more often.
• Touring: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, with USB ports in every row, a multi-view camera system, head-up display, fully digital instrument panel, navigation, Bose premium audio, and remote monitor features. It’s the one to target if you want the most convenience and tech.

Front and rear parking sensors start on the EX-L and higher trims, while the Touring adds surround-view and multi-view camera systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 21.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 174 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,064 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $48,064 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,983 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Pilot is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they bought at a lower entry point. If prices stabilise, owners who buy well now may be better positioned later because they’re starting from a more favourable market level.

The Pilot’s broad family appeal should help support demand over time, especially because shoppers tend to value its space, comfort, and practical layout. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2023 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Honda Sensing features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic-jam assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Front and rear parking sensors are added on the EX-L and higher trims, while the Touring trim adds surround-view and multi-view camera systems.

In our time driving the Pilot, the advanced safety features behaved as expected, with smooth adaptive cruise control operation and no false alarms. If you plan to use the TrailSport off pavement, some proximity warnings and low-speed automatic braking may be more intrusive around obstacles.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 21.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It’s the fully redesigned version with a more rugged appearance, more power, and an off-road-capable TrailSport model.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Pilot with stronger styling, more power, and the broadest mix of family-friendly features, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you the most up-to-date version of this SUV’s formula.
