Used 2020 Honda Pilot for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2020 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 8.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 196 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda Pilot earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, comfortable ride, responsive handling, and fuel efficiency. The Pilot also stands out for its practical three-row layout and family-friendly everyday usability.

The trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and cheap-feeling interior materials, and it no longer leads the class the way it once did. Even so, its three-row versatility and standard safety equipment make it a strong fit if you want a practical family SUV rather than a flashy one.

With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Pilot’s performance, comfort, fuel efficiency, and spacious cabin. The overall impression is that this is a vehicle many owners feel confident living with over the long term.

The Pilot’s standard V6 and straightforward family-SUV mission support that reputation, though used buyers should still pay attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is a solid value in Canada with standard all-wheel drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, remote start, heated front seats, push-button start, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, power locks, and power windows with a one-touch driver’s window. The EX adds a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, LED fog lights, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, roof rails, and a power moonroof. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, second-row outboard heated seats and in-door sunshades, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, and on-board navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Touring adds 20-inch wheels, blue ambient interior lighting, an upgraded stereo, a panoramic sunroof in seven-seat configuration, heated and ventilated front seats, auto on-off LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and more on-board tech. The Black Edition is based on the Touring and adds unique 20-inch black-painted wheels, black exterior paint, black grille and accents, and red interior lighting.
• Powertrain: A 3.5-litre V6 powers every trim and makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Standard all-wheel drive is included, and a front-wheel drive powertrain is not offered in Canada. The LX, EX, and EX-L use a 6-speed automatic, while the Touring and Black Edition get a 9-speed automatic that provides more refined acceleration and should help fuel efficiency.
• Safety package: HondaSensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Front and side-impact airbags, child-seat anchors, Vehicle Stability Assist, and traction control are also standard. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors are optional.
• Infotainment: All trims get Honda’s Display Audio 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The base trim also includes Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and a 215-watt, 7-speaker stereo with a subwoofer. SiriusXM satellite radio is added from the EX-L, while navigation is added on the EX-L and a rear entertainment system, Wi-Fi hotspot, upgraded 590-watt, 11-speaker premium audio system, and wireless charging pad arrive on the Touring and Black Edition.
• Fuel efficiency: Versions with the 6-speed automatic are rated at 13.0 L/100 km city, 9.3 L/100 km highway, and 11.3 L/100 km combined. With the 9-speed automatic, those figures improve to 12.4 L/100 km city, 9.3 L/100 km highway, and 11.0 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Pilot is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Pilot’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get standard all-wheel drive, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Honda’s full safety suite.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more comfortable daily driver, thanks to the power-adjustable driver’s seat, moonroof, roof rails, and LED fog lights.
• EX-L: This is the trim that most buyers should cross-shop first because it adds leather, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row outboard seats, and navigation.
• Touring: Pick this if you want the most upscale Pilot experience short of the Black Edition, with the upgraded stereo, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and extra tech.
• Black Edition: This is the style-focused top trim, built from the Touring and adding blacked-out exterior details and red interior lighting.

HondaSensing is standard across the range, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,159 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $30,701 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,450 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The current trend suggests the Pilot is not in a strong appreciation phase, so resale gains are unlikely to be the main reason to buy.

Even so, the Pilot’s broad family appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help it remain reasonably easy to move when it is time to sell. Well-equipped examples with clean histories and desirable trims should hold buyer interest better than stripped-down or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2020 Honda Pilot earns a five-star overall crash test rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

HondaSensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Front and side-impact airbags, child-seat anchors, Vehicle Stability Assist, and traction control are also standard.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors are optional, so you may want to look for a better-equipped trim or a well-optioned example if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Pilot’s roomy three-row layout, standard safety suite, and family-friendly practicality.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,552 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $30,701 CAD average.
• It leans more into comfort, utility, and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and inventory is decent. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better path for shoppers who prioritise a more refined ownership experience.
