Used 2023 GMC Canyon for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2023 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 8.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 195 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the 2023 GMC Canyon earns a 4.6/5 user rating, and our experts give it 7.3/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious interior, solid performance, ease of driving, and stylish design. The Canyon is also positioned as a more premium take on the midsize pickup formula, which fits buyers who want a more upscale truck experience.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, value for money is a concern, and there are fewer available configurations than before. Even so, the market still shows 31.3% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels solid, dependable, and easy to live with over time. The expert drive notes also describe quiet cabs and a feeling of solidity that is rare in body-on-frame vehicles.

GMC backs the Canyon with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre basic warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying premium-truck money for a model that is still relatively expensive to buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation skips some of the Chevy’s entry-level features, while Denali adds a chrome grille, mirror accents, side steps, 20-inch wheels, laser-etched open pore wood trim, and leather upholstery. AT4X stands out with a more dramatic interior and available red-and-white upholstery and red dashboard trim.
• Powertrain: You get one powertrain: a 2.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. In Canada, the truck goes straight to 4WD, with a single-speed transfer case on Elevation and a two-speed transfer case on other models.
• Safety package: The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. Safety Plus adds rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, and rear park assist on Elevation and AT4, while adaptive cruise control requires the Technology Package on those trims.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Google Built-In. Elevation and AT4 use an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, while Denali and AT4X get an 11-inch cluster, a 6.3-inch head-up display, wireless phone charging, and a Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Canyon achieves 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 13.5 city and 11.0 highway. The AT4X rises to 14.3 L/100 km combined, with 14.3 city and 14.3 highway.

Which 2023 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, Denali, AT4, AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the redesigned Canyon experience, the standard infotainment setup, and the core powertrain. It makes sense if you want the least expensive path into the model and can live without the extra luxury and safety equipment on higher trims.
• Denali: This is the best-value choice if you want the most upscale cabin, with the nicest interior materials, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, and a Bose premium audio system. It also gets the standard safety features that require packages on lower trims.
• AT4: Choose this if you want a more off-road-oriented setup without going all the way to the most extreme version. It keeps the Canyon’s premium feel while adding a tougher character.
• AT4X: This is the most capable and most specialised version, with front and rear electronic lockers, skid plates, 33-inch mud terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, and Baja drive mode. It suits you best if off-road capability matters more than value.

The higher-level Canyon Denali and AT4X also make the Safety Plus and Technology Package features standard, along with a Safety Alert Seat.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,488 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $47,488 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,765 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the model is still positioned as a premium midsize truck, well-equipped examples should hold more appeal than stripped-down ones. Strong equipment, desirable trims, and a clean history should help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is available with a standard driver-assistance suite, but crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA weren't available at the time of publication.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. On Elevation and AT4, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and the surround-view camera system require higher packages, while those features are standard on Denali and AT4X.

The key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard on every trim, so you should check carefully before buying a lower-spec truck.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a more premium take on the midsize pickup formula with strong tech and a powerful engine.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,169 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $47,488 CAD average.
• It offers a broader trim range and a more budget-friendly midsize-truck approach.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,221 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $47,488 CAD average.
• It adds a new AEV package that pushes the AT4X further with extra height, 35-inch tires, and steel skid plates.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Canyon with strong tech and a premium feel, the 2023 is the right starting point. If price matters most, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 suits you if you want the newest off-road hardware and can pay more.
