How much does the 2020 GMC Canyon cost?

There are 71 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the 2020 GMC Canyon earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal if you want a midsize pickup that leans toward refinement. The overview points to a more luxurious character than many rivals, plus a smaller, more affordable alternative to a full-size GMC Sierra that is easier to manoeuvre and potentially better suited to city driving. It also offers a broad spread of trims, from work-focused versions to Denali and AT4 variants, so you can match the truck more closely to your priorities. With 25.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Canyon’s appeal comes from its refined character, broad trim range, and everyday usability rather than from standout utility or off-road capability. For used buyers, that means the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s concept and more about whether its premium-leaning value proposition still fits your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Canyon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,186 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $29,214 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,469 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if prices stay under pressure. The Canyon’s refined positioning and broad trim appeal can still support demand, especially among shoppers who want a more upscale midsize truck. If you buy well today, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,608 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,214 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed face and an AT4 trim.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable with a truck that prioritises refinement over maximum utility. If you want a newer look and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the better secondary path; if price matters most, the 2020 is the smarter buy.
