What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe body style is the big differentiator here, with a more dramatic profile and a more exclusive feel than the standard GLE. The cabin is described as sumptuous, but the layout can feel complex at first, so make sure you’re comfortable with the controls and technology before you buy.
• Powertrain: The AMG GLE 53 Coupe uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 with EQ Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It is tuned for robust acceleration and comes with a SpeedShift nine-speed automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive.

The Intelligent Drive Package adds 13 more driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems, including Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist.
• Infotainment: MBUX uses dual 12.3-inch screens under one piece of glass, with a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen. Wireless smartphone charging is optional, and the system also supports navigation, satellite radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mercedes Me connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should have consumed 12.5 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test result was 12.7 L/100 km.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 248 listings available.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $60,451 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,455 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of overpaying. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than it would be in a rising market. Well-kept examples with desirable options should still attract attention, but you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle quickly.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its coupe styling and AMG performance focus.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $52,789 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $60,451 CAD average.
• It offers a broader, more traditional luxury-SUV lineup with eight variants.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $67,929 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $60,451 CAD average.
• It adds a subtle refresh, updated infotainment, and a plug-in hybrid variant.

The bottom line: If you want the distinctive coupe shape and AMG character, the 2022 is the right path. If price matters more than style, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer updates and broader powertrain choice.
