What should I look for when buying a used Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Driver Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control, lane keep and centring assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and Active Emergency Stop Assist.
• Infotainment: MBUX infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE offers these trims:

• GLE 350: The least-expensive model, with standard AWD and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine; a good fit if you want the entry point into the range.
• GLE 450: Adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, plus the balanced performance and upscale feel that suit most buyers best.
• GLE 450e: Brings plug-in hybrid power and an estimated 79 kilometres of electric-only range, making it the efficiency-focused choice.
• AMG GLE 63 S Coupe: The performance flagship, with a hand-built twin-turbo V8 and the most dramatic straight-line pace in the lineup.

What Mercedes-Benz GLE do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz GLE years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2025.

Higher-volume model years tend to attract more shoppers because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread, and a better chance of finding the trim and equipment you want. They also tend to be the easiest years to shop quickly when you want a broad selection of used luxury SUVs.

What is the Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favour if you want a used GLE, because it opens up more value in the market. A few years have moved down by smaller amounts, which suggests some versions are softening more gradually than others.

The 2019, 2022, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2025: 8/10
• 2023: 8/10

The 2026 GLE includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit assist system, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear sensors, a surround-view camera system, and a semi-automated parking system.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.
