What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The AMG GLE 53 Coupe is the style-led choice, with a sumptuous cabin, high-end materials, dual-screen instrumentation, and a more exclusive coupe body style. The base GLE 350 4Matic and the GLE 450 4Matic are mentioned as more utility-focused alternatives in the broader lineup.
• Powertrain: The AMG GLE 53 Coupe uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 with EQ Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, plus a SpeedShift nine-speed automatic and AMG Performance 4Matic+ AWD. It is tuned for strong acceleration and performance-first driving.
• Safety package: The Intelligent Drive Package adds 13 driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and Pre Safe Sound.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 3 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the entry point if you want the standard AWD foundation and the most accessible path into the GLE lineup.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the middle choice if you want a step up from the base model without jumping to the AMG-focused coupe.
• AMG GLE 53 Coupe: This is the best-value choice if you want the distinctive coupe body style, the strongest performance focus, and the most upscale presentation described here.

The Intelligent Drive Package is the key safety-package note to keep in mind, since it adds 13 additional systems and meaningfully expands the SUV’s driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 240 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $57,424 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $60,892 CAD sits slightly below last year's $65,852 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right away. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may need to price competitively to stand out.

The good news is that the GLE’s distinctive coupe styling and luxury positioning can help it remain desirable if it is well kept and properly equipped. Strong condition, desirable features, and a clean history should matter more when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is based on the standard GLE, which gets top safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Mercedes equips the 2022 GLE Coupe with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and Pre Safe Sound. If you want the fullest safety setup, the Intelligent Drive Package adds 13 more driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems.

The available systems are described as refined and accurate, with especially strong lane-keeping behaviour and an emergency stop feature that can bring the SUV to a halt if the driver becomes unresponsive. One caveat is that route-based speed adaption can be irritating because it automatically slows the vehicle for certain map-based situations.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a low-roof SUV coupe that blends practicality with a more dramatic, style-led profile.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,253 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $60,892 CAD average.
• It offers broad luxury-SUV appeal with a wide range of variants.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $67,689 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $60,892 CAD average.
• It adds a subtle refresh and an updated infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive styling and a strong mix of luxury, technology, and performance, the 2022 is the one to target. If price matters most, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want the newer refresh and can spend more, the 2023 is the upgrade to consider.
