Is the 2022 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 4.77/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, great safety features, and impressive fuel economy, which fits well if you want a practical compact crossover for everyday family use. Some owners do mention road noise and hesitant acceleration under hard throttle, so the appeal is strongest if comfort, utility, and efficiency matter more than sporty driving. The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the CR-V’s practical nature, safety, and fuel economy. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for daily driving and family duty. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about major drama and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 834 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,423 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $28,423 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,085 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently today but may limit short-term upside if you plan to sell soon. Even so, the CR-V’s practical reputation and broad appeal should help it remain easy to move when it is time to trade in or sell privately. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organised, you should be in a better position to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,887 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,423 CAD average.
• It offers broad appeal and proven popularity.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,535 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,423 CAD average.
• It adds updated infotainment and safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-liked, practical CR-V at a softer price than the newer model year. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newer updates and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the upgrade path to consider.
