CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Honda CR-V
Summary
With 844 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,282 CAD, 25.4% of 2022 Honda CR-V listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Honda CR-V 4.77 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Honda CR-V stands out as a compact crossover that leans hard into practicality, safety, and everyday ease of use. It is part of the CR-V’s sixth generation, which brought a more handsome shape and a bigger interior, including 1,042 millimetres of rear legroom and up to 1,113 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats. Honda also kept the CR-V’s reputation for being straightforward to live with, and the standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and traffic sign recognition. That combination makes it especially appealing to buyers who want a roomy, well-equipped family vehicle without a steep learning curve.
This model year also reflects Honda’s stronger emphasis on hybrid power. The top trims are hybrid-only, and their drivetrain is rated at 204 system horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque while using as little as 6.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined. The infotainment system is described as basic, but top trims add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The CR-V’s strengths are clear: it is practical, efficient, and safety-focused, with a cabin that owners often praise for space and fuel economy.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The CR-V is not presented as the most spirited driver, and the infotainment setup is not especially advanced. Still, for shoppers who value comfort, utility, and a strong safety package over flashiness, the 2022 Honda CR-V remains a very convincing choice.

I was not surprised by the overall quality of the CR-V. The negatives that I experienced were the amount of road noise that entered the cabin and the hesitation to accelerate with full throttle.

| Year-Round Low | $28,311 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $31,757 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,757 CAD |

Is the 2022 Honda CR-V a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Honda CR-V earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, great safety features, and impressive fuel economy, while the overview shows it is aimed at buyers who want a practical, well-equipped family vehicle that is easy to live with. That makes it a strong fit if you value comfort, utility, and everyday usability over flash. With 28.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Honda CR-V reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise centred on the CR-V’s practical layout, safety equipment, and fuel economy. That kind of feedback usually matters most if you plan to keep the vehicle for years and want something you can count on day to day. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and does not show signs of hard use.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda CR-V?
This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.
- Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 833 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.85% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $28,311 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Honda CR-V's resale value?
The current average of $28,312 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,757 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can ask in the near term. If you buy at the current average, you are starting from a more realistic price point than last year’s peak. The CR-V’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?
