Is the 2021 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, safety features, and value for money, while many also appreciate the impressive power and fuel efficiency, especially with the diesel engine. For you, that means this truck fits best if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle demanding work while still offering a more polished cabin and useful tech for daily life. With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to heavy-duty buyers: strong performance, useful capability, and confidence over time. The repeated praise for power and fuel efficiency also suggests that many owners feel comfortable relying on it for regular work and towing duties. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about making sure the truck has been maintained properly, especially if it has been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 262 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,847 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $50,858 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,724 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale expectations should be grounded in the current softer pricing rather than last year's higher benchmark. Even so, the model's strong reputation for capability and owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $43,385 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $50,858 CAD average.
• It offers a more luxurious and innovative feel.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the newer pricing context and strong owner satisfaction in a heavy-duty truck that balances work capability with comfort. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2020 is the better secondary path because it comes in noticeably cheaper while still delivering the upscale heavy-duty character you want.
