Is the 2021 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.69/5 user rating suggests you should feel confident considering it. Owners consistently praise its performance, safety features, and value for money, and many also like the strong power and fuel efficiency, especially with the diesel engine. For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want heavy-duty capability with a more polished, comfortable feel than a basic work truck. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many people find dependable and satisfying over time, especially when it comes to performance and overall ownership experience. The repeated praise for power and value also suggests buyers feel comfortable counting on it for demanding use. For used buyers, that usually means lower perceived long-term ownership risk if you choose a well-maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 245 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,937 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $49,937 CAD sits slightly below last year's $56,972 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can still support values, especially when the truck has the features and condition buyers want.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $41,723 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $49,937 CAD average.
• It offers a more luxurious and innovative feel with strong comfort and capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2021 is the stronger choice because it combines a lower current market price, solid owner satisfaction, and a good spread of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2020 is the better value path, especially if you can find one in good condition and do not mind giving up some of the 2021's updated appeal.
