Yes — the 2018 RAM 2500 earns a 4.61/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, power, and towing capacity, and many highlight the Cummins engine for its ability to pull heavy loads with confidence. With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.61/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability, dependable performance, and a truck that many drivers feel they can count on over time. Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 207 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,671 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $37,144 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,530 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if prices stay under pressure. Even so, a truck with strong owner satisfaction and clear capability tends to stay appealing to used buyers, especially when it offers the kind of towing strength and cabin comfort this model is known for. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.61/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.61/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, solid towing appeal, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities, the 2018 is a sensible place to focus. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may want to compare nearby years and target the lowest-priced listings first.
