Is the 2021 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Lexus RX earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, luxurious features, and smooth driving experience, and many also call out its comfort and handling. That lines up well with its role as a luxury SUV for buyers who want a calm, refined, and well-equipped daily driver rather than something sporty. Is the 2021 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the model’s reputation is built around being dependable and trouble-free over the long term. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,715 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $43,296 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,340 CAD.

That small decline suggests the RX has been holding its value fairly well, with no sign of a sharp drop in market demand. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it reduces the risk of a sudden value slide. It also means you may be able to recover a solid share of your purchase price if you keep the vehicle in good condition and stay on top of maintenance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,794 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $43,296 CAD average.
• It offers flexible two-row or three-row seating.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $43,820 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $43,296 CAD average.
• It adds new colours and a standalone fog lamps option.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of satisfaction, pricing stability, and current-market choice, the 2021 is the primary pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2020 is the better value-oriented alternative.
