Is the 2021 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — 4.9/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with what owners consistently praise: reliability, luxurious features, and a smooth driving experience. The RX’s comfort and handling are recurring strengths, and that fits its role as a refined, easy-to-live-with premium SUV. If you want a luxury SUV that prioritises calm daily driving over flashier performance, this model year fits that use case well. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the model’s reputation for being dependable and trouble-free comes through clearly in the reviews. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for years rather than treat it as a short-term purchase. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about reliability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and priced appropriately.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Lexus RX?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer and willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.33% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $40,710 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $43,391 CAD sits slightly above last year's $42,823 CAD.

That upward movement suggests the RX continues to hold buyer interest well in the used market. For a future seller, that is a positive sign because steady demand can help support stronger asking prices. The model’s reputation for reliability and comfort also helps keep it appealing to shoppers who want a premium SUV with broad everyday appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.33% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,103 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $43,391 CAD average.
• It offers a quiet cabin and a great ride quality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $44,028 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $43,391 CAD average.
• It adds minor updates while keeping the familiar comfort-focused formula.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of satisfaction, market support, and long-term appeal. If price matters most, the 2020 is the better value path, while the 2022 makes sense if you want a newer model with only modest changes.
