Used 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 14.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 562 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns 4.6/5 from owners and 7.2/10 from experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, impressive power, off-road capability, and luxury feel. That lines up well with the Grand Cherokee’s role as a two-row SUV for you if you want the familiar, older Grand Cherokee formula rather than the newer, larger interpretation of the name. The model’s broad appeal also comes through in its mix of rugged utility and upscale sophistication.

There are trade-offs, though: some owners mention missing tech for the price and weaker fuel mileage. Even so, 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough for many shoppers to trust over time, especially if you value its spacious cabin, smooth ride, and strong capability. The expert review also frames it as a long-running model with a familiar formula, which can be reassuring if you prefer a proven design over something brand-new.

Jeep also notes regular rebates and incentives, which can help offset ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and maintenance can matter more here than on a newer redesign.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Laredo and Limited are the affordable trims, while the Overland and Summit move you into a more upscale feel. The Trailhawk is the serious off-road choice, and the SRT and Trackhawk are the high-performance models. Base trims can miss some of the premium touches and equipment that make the Grand Cherokee feel special.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and is described as all the engine you need. A 5.7-litre Hemi V8 is optional, with 360 hp, 390 lb-ft of torque, and stronger towing ability, but it uses more fuel.
• Safety package: Jeep’s ProTech II Package includes adaptive cruise control with full stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Some trims may not include all of these features.
• Infotainment: The Uconnect 4C with Nav system includes navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. It is praised for fast response and a mostly easy-to-use interface.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 is rated at no better than 14.1 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 12.9 L/100 km on a mixed route.

Which 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 6 trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, Trailhawk, and Trackhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee experience at the lowest price. It gives you the core design and capability, but you’ll want to check carefully for the equipment you expect because the more premium feel comes as you move up the range.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing you into the highest-priced versions. It suits you if you want a balanced mix of everyday usability and upscale features.
• Trailhawk: Choose this one if off-road ability is your priority. It is the trim aimed at serious trail use, so it makes the most sense if you plan to use the Grand Cherokee’s rugged side.
• Overland: This trim is for you if you want a more luxurious feel and are willing to pay for it. It sits above the value-focused trims and leans harder into comfort and refinement.
• Summit: This is the most upscale mainstream choice in the lineup. The test vehicle’s Summit trim came with premium materials, a 5.7-litre V8, 4WD, and the Signature Leather-Wrapped Interior Package, making it the pick if you want the richest cabin experience.
• Trackhawk: This is the performance-focused choice, with the 6.2-litre supercharged V8. It is the one to consider if straight-line speed and high-performance character matter most to you.

Jeep’s ProTech II Package is the safety bundle to look for if you want the fullest set of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 562 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,067 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $29,067 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,983 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Grand Cherokee more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may face more competition if prices continue to soften or if newer alternatives pull attention away.

On the other hand, the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal can help support demand over time. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and choose a desirable trim, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA with 4WD, but 2WD versions drop to a four-star overall rating because of a three-star rollover resistance rating. It also earns Marginal and Poor IIHS ratings in small-overlap frontal testing, and its headlights rate Poor unless you get the higher-intensity discharge setup with automatic high-beam assist.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep’s ProTech II Package brings adaptive cruise control with full stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. You also get a backup camera with guidance lines, parking sensors, and ParkSense parking assistance for parallel and perpendicular spaces.

The main caution for you is that the crash-test results are a real weak point, especially by IIHS standards. If safety is a top priority, this is the area where the Grand Cherokee asks you to compromise.

Should I buy a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the final version of the current-generation two-row Grand Cherokee before the redesign arrives.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,520 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $29,067 CAD average.
• It offers a familiar formula with strong off-road capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,540 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $29,067 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned package with more technology and sophistication.

The bottom line: If you want the familiar two-row Grand Cherokee and a softer used price, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play; if you want the newer redesign and can spend more, the 2022 is the upgrade path.
