Used 2021 Honda CR-V for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2021 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 12.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 765 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda CR-V earns a 4.79/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the safety features, the spacious and comfortable interior, and the excellent fuel economy. That lines up with the CR-V’s role as a practical compact SUV that focuses on broad appeal rather than flash. If you want a well-rounded family-friendly crossover that covers the basics well, this model year fits that brief.

There are 27.1% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find reliable, highly rated, and suitable for long-term ownership. That kind of language matters because it suggests the CR-V is the sort of used SUV you can count on for everyday duty rather than constant attention.

From a dependability standpoint, the CR-V’s straightforward powertrain and broad owner approval support the case for steady ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about dramatic failure and more about whether the example you choose has been maintained properly and still feels strong in daily use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most stripped-down version, and it misses some convenience and safety content that appears higher up the range. If you want a more complete ownership experience, the upper trims add a more upscale cabin feel and more equipment.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder with 190 horsepower and a CVT. It is tuned for smooth, predictable acceleration rather than quick passing power, so test it on highway merges if you want to judge whether it feels strong enough for your driving.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not on the LX, but it becomes standard on the Sport and stays standard above that.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch high-definition touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SMS text messaging functions. Higher trims add more audio capability, Sirius XM, HD radio on Sport, and navigation only on the Touring and Black Edition.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model is rated as low as 8.3 L/100 km city, 7.0 L/100 km highway, and 7.7 L/100 km combined. AWD models are rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 7.4 L/100 km highway, and 8.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is also the most basic version. It gets the core CR-V formula and standard Honda Sensing, yet it lacks blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and has the least generous equipment mix overall.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert while keeping the CR-V’s practical core intact. It also brings HD radio, making it a smart middle-ground choice if you want more everyday convenience without stretching too far.
• EX: This trim builds on the lower grades with a more complete feature set and is a sensible step up if you want a better-equipped CR-V without going all the way to the luxury-leaning trims.
• EX-L: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale cabin and stronger audio and infotainment content. It suits buyers who care about comfort and a richer interior experience.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the most premium tech and convenience content, including navigation and a wireless phone charger. It makes the most sense if you want the top-spec CR-V and are willing to pay for it.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim, but blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert starts on the Sport.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent options.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 765 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,396 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $26,396 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,133 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. A softer market usually means future sellers may need to price more competitively to attract attention.

Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction help support demand. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it properly, it should remain attractive to used buyers who want a practical compact SUV with a strong reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2021 Honda CR-V earned both a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not included on the LX, but it becomes standard on the Sport and remains standard above that.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. The CR-V did not reach Top Safety Pick+ status because of lower scores in the headlight evaluation and the updated side crash test, and it also received an Acceptable rating for LATCH ease of use.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety recognition with broad standard safety equipment.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,471 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,396 CAD average.
• It offers a polished, easy-to-live-with compact SUV feel with great handling.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better all-round pick if you want the strongest mix of safety, owner satisfaction, and current market value. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the CR-V’s core strengths.
