Used 2021 Honda CR-V for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2021 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 12.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 727 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda CR-V earns a 4.79/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the safety features, the spacious and comfortable interior, and the excellent fuel economy. That lines up well with the CR-V’s role as a practical compact SUV that appeals to Canadian buyers who want an easy-to-live-with family vehicle rather than a flashy one.

The market also shows 27.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many shoppers find reliable and highly rated, with comments that reinforce confidence in Honda ownership over the long term. The expert assessment also frames the CR-V as a familiar, proven crossover that has been refined into a comfortable and capable package.

Honda’s standard safety and convenience approach also supports everyday dependability, since you get a broad set of driver-assistance features across the lineup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the lower trims feel too sparse for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most stripped-down version, and it misses some equipment that appears higher up the range. In particular, the blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard on the LX, so you should check whether that matters to you.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is extra-cost on the LX and standard on the other trims.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. The LX is the only trim without blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Every CR-V gets a 7-inch high-definition touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SMS text messaging functions. Higher trims add more audio capability, SiriusXM, HD radio on Sport, navigation on Touring and Black Edition, and a wireless phone charger on Touring.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated as low as 8.3 L/100 km city, 7.0 highway, and 7.7 combined. AWD models are rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 7.4 highway, and 8.1 combined.

Which 2021 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the CR-V’s core safety and utility at the lowest price. Just remember that it is the only trim without blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so it is best if you are comfortable with a simpler equipment list.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the missing blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert while keeping the CR-V’s practical formula intact. It also gets HD radio, making it a smart step up from the LX.
• EX: This trim builds on the Sport with more comfort and convenience equipment, making it a good middle-ground choice if you want a more polished daily driver without going all the way to the top.
• EX-L: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale cabin, since it adds leather and a more premium feel. It suits you if interior comfort matters more than chasing the highest-tech features.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 300-watt audio system, navigation, and a wireless phone charger. It is the right choice if you want the most complete CR-V experience and are willing to pay for it.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, while blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert start on the Sport.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 727 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,887 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $25,887 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,742 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you are thinking about near-term resale. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful.

Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Buyers tend to keep gravitating toward familiar, practical SUVs with a good reputation, which helps cushion resale values.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2021 Honda CR-V earns a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard on the LX, but it becomes standard on the Sport and stays standard as you move up the range.

The main caveat is that the CR-V did not reach Top Safety Pick+ status because of lower headlight scores and the updated side crash test, and it also received an Acceptable rating for LATCH ease of use.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the expert assessment: it combines a 7.83/10 expert rating with a 10/10 safety score.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,215 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $25,887 CAD average.
• It is a polished, comfortable, and practical crossover with strong handling.

The 2021 is the better all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of safety, owner satisfaction, and current-market availability. If your priority is saving a bit of money up front, the 2020 is the sensible alternative, especially if you are happy with a familiar, easy-to-live-with compact SUV.
