Is the 2024 Honda CR-V a good car?

The 2024 Honda CR-V is a strong fit if you want a practical, well-equipped compact crossover with a roomy cabin and a focus on everyday usability. It is a five-passenger SUV that leans into efficiency, safety, and ease of use, while its more polished design and larger interior help it feel more modern than before.

Its user rating is 3.75/5, which points to a mixed but still respectable reception. The CR-V’s appeal is strongest if you value comfort, cargo space, and a straightforward ownership experience over excitement or standout styling. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market activity to work with.

Is the 2024 Honda CR-V reliable?

The 2024 Honda CR-V is described as continuing the model’s long-running reputation for reliability, safety, and economy. It also keeps the CR-V formula centred on practicality, with a roomy cabin, useful cargo space, and an easy-to-learn layout that should suit everyday use well.

For used buyers, that combination usually points to lower long-term ownership risk than a more complex or performance-focused SUV, especially if you prioritise a straightforward compact crossover.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market: there is enough inventory to shop carefully, but the best-priced examples may still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 952 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,336 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $34,336 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,787 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2024 CR-V has already absorbed some early depreciation, which can help future resale stability if demand stays steady. Because it is still a relatively new model with strong practicality and broad appeal, well-kept examples should remain attractive to used buyers. If you buy carefully now, you may be starting from a more favourable price point than early owners did.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,535 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,336 CAD average.
• It adds a redesigned cabin with more space and updated tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newer buy with a softer market and plenty of listings to compare, the 2024 is the safer primary choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the better value path and still delivers the core CR-V strengths.
