How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport cost?

Prices have softened 16.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 332 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport earns 4.15/5 from owners and 7.33/10 from expert testing. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners repeatedly praise its style, good fuel economy, and off-road ability, which fits the Bronco Sport’s role as a compact two-row crossover that can handle both commuting and weekend adventures. That mix makes sense if you want something practical for daily use but with a more rugged personality than a typical small SUV.

At the same time, the market shows 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop carefully and compare examples.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.15/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable enough to live with day to day, especially when they value its adventurous character, good fuel economy, and off-road capability. The expert testing also describes it as a capable, lively companion with good manners for regular commuting, which supports the idea that it should be easy to count on for mixed-use ownership.

If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about whether the specific example has been maintained well and whether its interior condition matches the mileage and asking price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. You should pay close attention to whether the example you are considering has the features you want, because the lower trims leave out some equipment that appears on the more expensive versions.
• Powertrain: The 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbocharged three-cylinder is fitted to Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks models, while the Badlands uses a 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder. The smaller engine is the efficiency-oriented choice, while the larger engine is better matched to the Bronco Sport’s character.
• Safety package: Every trim comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, forward collision warning and dynamic brake support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, auto high-beam headlamps, and a reversing camera. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on all trims except Base, so that trim misses out on the more advanced driver-assistance bundle.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and FordPass Connect with a subscription-based 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. The base audio system uses six speakers, and the available Bang & Olufsen system is offered on Outer Banks and above.
• Fuel efficiency: The owner feedback highlights good fuel economy, and the expert testing notes that the 1.5-litre engine can sound a little strained when pressed hard, while the 2.0-litre engine in Badlands better suits the vehicle’s character.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Bronco Sport Base, Bronco Sport Big Bend, Bronco Sport Outer Banks, and Ford Bronco Sport Badlands.

Here's the short version:

• Bronco Sport Base: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim most likely to leave you wanting more convenience equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler setup.
• Bronco Sport Big Bend: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims. If you want a balanced mix of features and price, this is the one to focus on first.
• Bronco Sport Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and convenience, with a more upscale feel than the lower trims. It suits you if you want the Bronco Sport’s style and capability but plan to spend most of your time on pavement.
• Ford Bronco Sport Badlands: This is the most capability-focused version, with the 2.0-litre engine, advanced 4x4 hardware, all-terrain tires, seven G.O.A.T. modes, Trail Control, and metal bash plates. It is the right pick if off-road use matters most to you.

Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on every trim, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on all trims except Base.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some room to shop around without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 332 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,693 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $22,708 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,178 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you are thinking about future resale. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, because a model that already moved down in price has less room to absorb poor maintenance or cosmetic wear. Demand should remain supported by its distinctive styling and practical adventure-ready image.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.15/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a four-star rating for rollover resistance.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every trim comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, forward collision warning and dynamic brake support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, auto high-beam headlamps, and a reversing camera. Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on all trims except Base and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centring, evasive steering assist, voice-activated touchscreen navigation, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, and road-sign recognition, though road-sign recognition is not available on Big Bend.

A notable caveat is that the more advanced driver-assistance package is not standard on Base, so if you want the fullest safety tech set, you will need to shop above the entry trim.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.15/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out as the first model year to bring the Bronco Sport’s lively, capable, and attractive compact crossover formula to market.

The bottom line: If you want the Bronco Sport’s original mix of style, practicality, and adventure credibility, the 2021 is a sensible place to start. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely and focus on well-priced examples with the equipment you want, because the current inventory gives you enough choice to be selective.
