Should I buy a 2021 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,329 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,058 CAD average.
• It adds the Wilderness trim for more off-road capability.

The bottom line:
The 2021 is the better value if you want a practical, well-liked Forester at a lower price. If you are willing to spend more for added capability and a newer model-year update, the 2022 is the stronger alternative.
