Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class backs that up with a high-tech cabin, a luxurious feel, and generous standard equipment. It also suits you well if you want a sedan that feels close to a scaled-down S-Class, with comfort and sophistication at the centre of the experience. The broad range of versions means you can find one that fits your priorities, but it also means individual cars can vary a lot in appearance and equipment. 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is built around a refined, well-equipped luxury formula, with standard all-wheel drive on the E350 sedan in Canada, mild-hybrid technology, and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Its generous equipment list and upscale cabin presentation support confidence in day-to-day use, especially if you value comfort and sophistication. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the broad model range and complex equipment can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 121 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $44,978 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $48,549 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,703 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more car for the money today, but it also means future resale expectations should stay realistic. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you may not see rapid appreciation, especially if the market stays well supplied. Still, a well-kept example with desirable equipment should remain appealing to shoppers who want a premium midsize sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $59,683 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $48,549 CAD average.
• It gets a mid-cycle update to the infotainment system, engines, and exterior styling.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the E-Class experience at a lower entry price and with more room to negotiate. If you want the newer update and are comfortable paying more, the 2021 is the stronger upgrade path; otherwise, the 2020 is the smarter choice for price-sensitive buyers.
