Used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 16.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 581 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and luxurious features, and many highlight the powerful engines and impressive ride quality. The Grand Cherokee’s strong styling and capability also come through in owner feedback, especially for buyers who value a more distinctive SUV character.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert review points to poor value for money and notes that advanced safety features are not standard. In practical terms, this suits you best if you want a traditional SUV with personality and capability rather than the newest equipment or the strongest efficiency story.

With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and performance standing out as recurring strengths. The review summary also suggests that people tend to count on its luxurious feel and strong powertrain character over the long term.

The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing it as a familiar, long-running formula rather than a fresh redesign. For used buyers, that usually means you should focus on condition, maintenance history, and how the vehicle was equipped, since age and complexity can matter more than headline appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Grand Cherokee’s styling still looks right, but the interior can feel less substantial in pricier versions, where hard plastic becomes more noticeable. Higher trims add more premium materials, while the Premium Lighting Group is standard in higher trim levels.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-litre V6 and eight-speed automatic deliver satisfying acceleration, and the V8 options add much more power if you need it. The Trailhawk is the most off-road-focused version, while the SRT and Trackhawk are tuned for serious performance.
• Safety package: ProTech I is standard on all trim levels and includes a reversing camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProTech II adds low-speed forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights, while Advanced ProTech II adds full-speed forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, semi-autonomous parking assist, and rain-sensing wipers.
• Infotainment: In Limited X trim, Uconnect uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio connected services. A 4G LTE WiFi data plan is available, and some versions offer a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V6 returned 11.3 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving according to Natural Resources Canada, and the test vehicle recorded 12.1 L/100 km.

Which 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 1 trim level: Laredo.

Here's the short version:

The Laredo is the trim name explicitly identified in the available data, and it gives you the Grand Cherokee’s core formula without the complexity of the higher-performance or more luxury-focused variants. If you want the model’s styling and capability first, this is the starting point to consider, but the safety content also makes clear that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 581 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,513 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $25,520 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,599 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put pressure on future resale values if you plan to sell soon. If you own one, pricing it competitively will matter more than ever, especially because shoppers can compare against a fairly broad pool of listings.

At the same time, the Grand Cherokee’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), it earns a Marginal rating for driver protection and a Poor rating for front passenger protection in the small overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep offers three collections of advanced driver-assistance systems for this model year. ProTech I is standard and includes a reversing camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProTech II adds low-speed forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Advanced ProTech II adds full-speed forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, semi-autonomous parking assist, and rain-sensing wipers.

The main caveat is that the crash-test results are weak by modern standards, and the headlights rate Poor unless you upgrade to the Acceptable HID headlights in the Premium Lighting Group, which is standard in higher trim levels.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It remains an appealing, familiar choice with strong off-road capability and a long-running formula.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $29,067 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,520 CAD average.
• It is the final version before the redesigned Grand Cherokee arrives.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and are comfortable with the older formula, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you prefer to pay more for the last year of this generation, the 2021 is the cleaner choice for buyers who want the final iteration before the redesign.
