Used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 15.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 568 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.58/5, and the expert rating is 6.33/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and luxurious features, along with the powerful engines and impressive ride quality. The Grand Cherokee also stands out for its stylish design and strong off-road capability.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and it is described as poor value for money. It suits you best if you want a traditional SUV with character and capability rather than the newest equipment.

With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find comfortable and dependable over time, with strong satisfaction around its performance and features. That said, some owners mention build quality concerns and noise in certain areas, so you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history on any used example.

The expert assessment also frames it as a familiar, long-running SUV formula, which can be reassuring if you want a proven design. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age-related wear may show up in ride quality, cabin refinement, and overall upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Laredo starts the range, while higher trims add more premium materials and equipment. The Limited X stands out with a more distinctive appearance, but the cabin can feel increasingly hard-plastic as prices rise, so you should judge whether the added trim content is worth it.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 295-horsepower, 3.6-litre V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission. V8 options are available if you want more power, and the Trailhawk is the version aimed at serious off-road use.
• Safety package: ProTech I is standard and includes a reversing camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProTech II adds low-speed forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Advanced ProTech II adds full-speed forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, semi-autonomous parking assist, and rain-sensing wipers.
• Infotainment: The Limited X gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio connected services. A 4G LTE WiFi data plan is available, and some versions can be equipped with premium audio.
• Fuel efficiency: The test SUV returned 11.3 L/100 km in combined driving according to Natural Resources Canada, while the test vehicle itself recorded 12.1 L/100 km.

Which 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 4 trim levels: Laredo, Limited X, SRT, Trackhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee’s core styling and capability without paying for the higher-end equipment. It makes sense if you value the nameplate’s character more than luxury extras.
• Limited X: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale feel and the stronger infotainment setup, including the 8.4-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration. It also adds a more distinctive look without jumping all the way to the performance-focused models.
• SRT: Choose this if you want serious on-road performance and the stronger V8 character. It is the trim for buyers who care more about speed and driving excitement than everyday value.
• Trackhawk: This is the extreme performance choice, with the most powerful engine and the most aggressive hardware in the lineup. It suits you only if you want maximum performance and are comfortable with the costs that come with it.

ProTech I is standard on all trim levels, while higher safety packages add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 568 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,019 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $26,019 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,690 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the Grand Cherokee easier to buy now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one, you may need to price it competitively to stand out against the current inventory. The upside is that a well-kept example with the right trim and equipment can still attract buyers who want its capability and character.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA. In IIHS testing, it earns a Marginal rating for driver protection and a Poor rating for front passenger protection in the small overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep offers three collections of driver-assistance features. ProTech I is standard on all trim levels and includes a reversing camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProTech II adds low-speed forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Advanced ProTech II adds full-speed forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, semi-autonomous parking assist, and rain-sensing wipers.

A key caveat is that the headlights rate Poor unless you upgrade to the Acceptable HID headlights in the Premium Lighting Group, which is standard in higher trim levels.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers familiar capability with strong off-road talent and a long-running formula.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $29,676 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,019 CAD average.
• It is the final version before the redesigned Grand Cherokee arrives.

The 2020 is the better pick if you want a lower entry price and are comfortable with its older design and safety compromises. If you want the last year of this generation and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative.
