What is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $33,390 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,559 CAD.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The current market also shows enough demand to support used values, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,530 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $33,390 CAD average.
• It adds stronger brand loyalty and more emphasis on refinement.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want a better-value entry point into this generation and you’re comfortable shopping condition carefully. If you can stretch for the 2021, it may appeal more if you want a slightly newer truck with broader market appeal, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020’s lower average cost and softer pricing trend.
