Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearNorth York, ON

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,735 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It fits buyers who want a full-size pickup that does the basics well, with a versatile engine range, three cab sizes, and easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are that it does not tow or haul quite as much as a Ford F-150, and there is no electrified version for sale for now.

The Silverado’s 34.8% good-or-great-deal share also suggests there are still some attractive listings in the market.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Silverado’s appeal is reinforced by its practical design, broad configuration range, and straightforward cabin layout. Its available diesel engine and thoughtful equipment mix also point to a truck built to handle regular use without feeling overly complicated.

The 3.0-litre Duramax diesel is described as pulling strongly with smooth shifts from the 10-speed automatic, which supports confidence in everyday drivability. If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a truck that was worked hard or optioned beyond your needs, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base work-truck trim uses 17-inch steel wheels, while higher trims add more upscale materials, larger wheels, and more premium cabin finishes. If you want the most capability-focused version, the ZR2 stands out with its off-road-specific hardware.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V8s, or the 3.0-litre Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel is the torque-rich option, while the ZR2’s hardware is aimed at buyers who plan to leave pavement behind.
• Safety package: Every Silverado gets automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator, and Teen Driver. Higher-end safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and Super Cruise is available on select trims.
• Infotainment: Base trims come with a seven-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Move up to LT or above for the 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel can return as little as 8.1 L/100 km on the highway in 2WD form, while the ZR2 with the 6.2-litre V8 is rated as high as 16.8 L/100 km in the city. The tester recorded 11.9 L/100 km city, 10.8 highway, and 11.4 combined.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (WT): This is the most basic choice, but it still gives you wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and the Silverado’s standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want a work-focused truck and do not need the bigger screen or premium cabin upgrades.
• Custom: This is the next step up if you want a little more equipment without moving too far up the price ladder. It should suit you if you want a more polished daily driver than the WT while staying value-conscious.
• Custom Trail Boss: This is the better pick if you want a more rugged look and off-road leaning hardware than the standard Custom. It suits buyers who want extra capability without jumping all the way to the top-end trims.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it unlocks the 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. If you want the Silverado to feel properly modern inside, this is the trim to target.
• RST: Choose this if you want a more style-forward Silverado with a more upscale presence than the lower trims. It is a good fit if appearance matters as much as utility.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the stronger choice if you want off-road hardware and a more aggressive setup than the LT. It is aimed at buyers who want capability first, with comfort still in the mix.
• LTZ: This is where the Silverado starts to feel more premium, with richer materials and more upscale features. It suits you if you want a more comfortable long-term truck without going all the way to the top trim.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, and it is the trim that can be paired with Super Cruise. Pick it if you want the most convenience and the most advanced available driving tech.
• ZR2: This is the one to buy if you want the most serious off-road setup, with a lift, differential lockers, and Multimatic shocks. It is the right choice if dirt-road ability matters more than on-road polish.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the most advanced driver-assistance tech is reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,735 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $51,411 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $51,411 CAD sits slightly below last year's $56,935 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. A truck with broad appeal, strong equipment, and a desirable powertrain mix should still hold attention better than a stripped or poorly optioned example.

Because the Silverado has a wide trim spread, resale will likely depend heavily on configuration and condition. Well-kept trucks with sought-after features should remain easier to move than less desirable builds.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2024 Silverado 1500 earns five-star ratings in overall and side crash testing from NHTSA, and four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover tests. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Silverado gets standard automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator, and Teen Driver. That gives you a solid standard safety base even before you move into higher trims.

There are still caveats to keep in mind. The IIHS results are mixed, with strong driver-side performance but weaker passenger-side, front-crash, side-crash, and headlamp results. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim and equipment level.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds the available diesel engine and Super Cruise on the top trim.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $46,451 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $51,411 CAD average.
• It blends smart technology with stout available off-road equipment.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad trim choice, and the latest feature set. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers much of the Silverado’s core appeal.
