Why it stands out
The 2019 Chevrolet Trax stands out as a small SUV that was built around practicality and value. Chevrolet positioned it as its first subcompact crossover, aiming to blend the manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency of a sedan with the added space and higher driving position shoppers wanted from an SUV. That formula helped the Trax carve out a place in Chevrolet’s lineup as a budget-friendly, compact alternative for buyers who wanted something easy to live with.
By 2019, the Trax had already picked up some useful updates. The model had gained Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and Chevrolet had also made some safety features available, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. It was still a straightforward vehicle in many respects, but those additions made it feel more modern and easier to recommend than the earliest versions.
There were still trade-offs, though. The Trax’s output was described as merely adequate in its early years, and the model was not especially quick. It also lacked the breadth of features found in some rivals, which is part of why it remained an average value proposition rather than a class leader. Even so, its compact size, sensible packaging, and affordable nature are exactly what make the 2019 Chevrolet Trax distinctive.

Perfect size for my teenage daughter. Not too big and not too small. Shes short but this lets her sit up high to see the road and oncoming traffic. A slimmer vehicle so parking is easier.

Just buying it I am wary about giving a review til I have had it a while. I do like the features especially the AWD. The price was right for the mileage at 16,000. The trunk space is small but I am willing to trade it for the gas mileage and the AWD.
