How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It is a compact, budget-friendly subcompact SUV that was designed to make city driving easy while still giving you the higher seating position and added practicality many buyers want. Chevrolet positioned it as a small, affordable alternative in its lineup, and its appeal has long centred on manoeuvrability and value. For shoppers who want an uncomplicated small SUV with sensible packaging rather than a feature-packed or especially quick one, it fits that brief well. 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Chevrolet Trax benefits from being part of a first generation that received useful updates over time, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a more powerful 155-hp engine later in the run. Its strengths are rooted more in practicality than performance, and the model line had already been simplified by 2022. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should expect a straightforward, value-focused SUV rather than one with abundant equipment or standout performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find decent value.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 42 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,520 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $20,039 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,110 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. Because the model is positioned around value and practicality, resale performance will likely depend on keeping the vehicle clean, well maintained, and sensibly priced against similar listings. If market conditions stay steady, the Trax's affordability should continue to support interest from budget-conscious shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 Chevrolet Trax makes the most sense if you want a simple, city-friendly small SUV with practical packaging and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing closely, but the 2022 is the better pick if you want the latest version of this generation’s updates and a solid mix of value and usability.
