Is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a model that resonates well with shoppers who want a budget-friendly, compact alternative with a higher seating position and useful space. The Trax’s appeal is its straightforward formula: it is affordable, easy to live with, and practical for small families or couples, while still offering the elevated driving position and cargo-friendly packaging of a small SUV. Its value-focused positioning and available safety and smartphone integration updates help it stay relevant in its segment. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Trax is built around a familiar first-generation formula, which can be reassuring if you want a simple, well-understood used SUV. Its strengths are its affordability, compact size, and easy-to-use cabin layout, while its limitations are more about performance and feature depth than basic usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a budget-oriented vehicle may show its age more quickly if maintenance has been deferred.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 85 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,988 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $12,988 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,356 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax is currently in a softer resale position than it was a year ago, which can make it more attractive to buyers than sellers. If you plan to sell later, the current market indicates you may need to price competitively to stand out. The good news is that the Trax’s practical, value-oriented appeal should continue to support steady interest from shoppers looking for an affordable small SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

The bottom line: The 2019 Trax makes sense if you want a compact, budget-friendly SUV with a practical cabin and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, this year looks appealing; if you want to compare value across nearby years, you can also use pricing and deal share to see whether another model year offers a better fit for your budget.
