How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 16.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 82 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.3/5 user rating, which points to solid appeal for shoppers who want a small SUV that is easy to place in traffic and still practical enough for everyday use. Chevrolet positioned it as a budget-friendly, compact alternative, and its compact footprint makes it a sensible choice for small families or couples. It also offers useful everyday features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

That combination of manoeuvrability, practicality, and approachable pricing helps explain why it remains a familiar name in Chevrolet’s lineup. 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Trax’s reliability case is tied to its straightforward first-generation formula: a familiar turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine, available front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and a cabin built around practical everyday use. Its safety features were relatively sparse at first, but by 2020 it had picked up useful updates that improved its day-to-day usefulness.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still an older, value-focused design, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and how well the vehicle has aged.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 82 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,597 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $15,597 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,729 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market if depreciation continues at a similar pace. For you, that can be a benefit now if you're buying, but it may limit upside later if you plan to resell in the near term. The Trax’s value story is strongest when you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Trax makes the most sense if you want a compact, budget-friendly SUV with useful everyday features and a price that has moved lower than it was a year ago. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, this year looks appealing; if you want to compare across nearby years, you can use the 2020 as a strong value benchmark and then decide whether a newer or older Trax better fits your price target.
