Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 166 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $26,760 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,605 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Highlander more attractive to buyers today but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. Even so, the model’s practical reputation and broad family appeal help support steady demand. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should still have a reasonable path to resale later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a smart choice if you want a comfortable, practical Highlander with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
