Why it stands out
The 2022 Toyota Highlander stands out as a three-row midsize SUV that focuses on the basics families need while still adding a bit of flair. It offers plenty of versatility, a stout V6 engine, and standard safety features buyers are looking for. That combination makes it appealing for shoppers who want a practical family hauler without giving up a sense of style.
On the road, the Highlander’s great ride quality is one of its strongest traits, and its technology is described as easy to use. The standard advanced safety features add to its family-friendly appeal, and owners also tend to praise its safety, comfort, and smooth ride. At the same time, the third row is cramped, and some drivers have concerns about the infotainment system, the lack of memory seat features, and the driver’s seat comfort, especially for taller individuals.
