How much does the 2018 Subaru Outback cost?

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Outback earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, strong safety features, and ample cargo space, and those themes line up well with its role as a practical, all-weather vehicle for everyday family use and longer trips. You also get a model that many shoppers value for its capability and useful equipment without having to move far up the price ladder. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to comfort, safety, and utility. That said, you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the drivetrain has been cared for, since long-term ownership risk can rise if previous upkeep was inconsistent.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 189 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,607 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $16,890 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,733 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for the long term, the softer pricing may limit short-term appreciation, but it also means the model is still accessible to a broad pool of used buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a sensible choice if you want a practical, all-weather used vehicle with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some value. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out as the better pick when you want a balance of satisfaction, capability, and current pricing.
