Why it stands out
The 2018 Subaru Outback is a standout choice for buyers looking for a versatile and capable vehicle, particularly in Canadian climates. As a pioneer in the crossover market, the Outback combines the best of both worlds: the spacious interior and comfort of a station wagon with the rugged capability of an SUV. This model is equipped with an advanced all-wheel drive system, which ensures excellent handling and control in various road and weather conditions, appealing to outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.
The Outback excels in safety, boasting a complete absence of accident history among listed vehicles, further enhancing its appeal. While some drivers have reported occasional issues with its navigation and infotainment systems, the overall feedback remains overwhelmingly positive — with an impressive user rating of 4.67 / 5 stars. It offers ample cargo space, a smooth ride, and strong safety features, making it an excellent choice for anyone seeking both practicality and reliability in their vehicle. However, some may find the continuous variable transmission (CVT) a bit less engaging, which is something to consider for prospective buyers focused on dynamic driving experiences.

Call me biased, but I don’t see why everyone doesn’t go for this car. Meets all my needs and it’s reliable, relatively affordable, and sleek looking, what more could I want

I bought the Premium model as a replacement for my 2012 Outback. My 2018 has navigation and moon roof. Car is awesome. Drives and shifts more smoothly than the older one. Not that much acceleration getting on the freeway but adequate. I like all the safety features (blind spot detection, back up camera, lane detection, etc.). Ill be keeping this car until self-driving cars are the standard.

Just bought a 2018 Outback Touring. It is quiet, smooth ride, the V6 has the power that V4 versions lack, which means I would never buy the smaller engine. Love the larger screen on the navigation system. The safety features actually saved us money on our auto insurance and we are paying less for the 2018 Outback than the 2012 Accord V6 we own. The visibility is another great aspect of the Outback. Getting into and out of the Outback is much easier with its higher clearance. While I have only had it a short time, I have really enjoyed driving it and look forward to learning about all the new features available.
