How much does the 2018 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 12.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 196 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Outback earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, strong safety features, and ample cargo space, and those strengths line up well with its role as a practical, roomy wagon-turned-crossover for family use and all-weather driving. The model’s broad appeal is reinforced by its straightforward, durable character and useful technology, while the 31.1% share of good and great deals suggests there is still decent market value to be found.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with particular confidence in its long-term usefulness. That said, used buyers should still budget carefully for maintenance and inspect the vehicle’s service history closely, since long-term ownership risk can rise if upkeep has been inconsistent.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,601 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $16,913 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,267 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Outback easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance history than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because the model’s practical layout and all-weather reputation remain attractive to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a solid choice if you want a well-liked Outback with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours shoppers. If you are price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years for the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price, especially if you can find a cleaner example at a similar cost.
