Is the 2018 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, power, and towing capacity, and the Cummins engine gets singled out for excellent pulling performance. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle serious work while still offering a more upscale cabin and flexible configurations for work or family use. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels reliable, dependable, and capable of handling heavy-duty use with confidence. That matters if you plan to keep your truck for the long haul, because strong satisfaction from current owners often reflects fewer regrets over time. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific truck has been maintained properly, especially if it has been used hard for towing or hauling.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 206 listings available.

What is the 2018 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $36,240 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,174 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a bit more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell, especially for a truck with a reputation for capability and towing strength.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better fit if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a softer price than last year, and enough inventory to compare options. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to keep an eye on nearby model years as well, but the 2018 already offers a solid balance of value and buyer confidence.

How does the 2018 RAM 2500 compare to the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

The RAM 2500 is the more affordable option here, and it also gives you much more inventory to shop from. If you want broader selection and a lower average price, the RAM has the edge. If you are comparing value strictly on market pricing and deal availability, the RAM 2500 looks more accessible.
