How much does the 2017 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 1.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 137 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the powerful performance, modern and comfortable interior, and user-friendly features. The truck also fits well if you want a spacious, comfortable heavy-duty pickup with strong towing ability and a more refined cabin than a basic work truck. With 24.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability and towing capability as strengths, with many drivers describing the truck as dependable and trouble-free in regular use. That said, some owners mention ride quality and steering concerns in certain units, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and how the truck has been driven.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is finding a hard-used example that has been worked more than it has been cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,025 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $33,541 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,918 CAD.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the combination of strong capability and a comfortable cabin helps keep it appealing to used-truck shoppers. If you maintain it well and keep mileage and condition in check, you should still have a reasonable path to resale demand later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong pick if you want a heavy-duty truck with a refined cabin, strong towing appeal, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be worth a look, but the 2017 remains the better all-around choice if you want a balance of capability, comfort, and current market value.
