Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns a 4.78/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, excellent handling, comfortable ride, and stylish design, while also appreciating features like the sound system. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a luxury mid-size car that feels modern, comfortable, and well equipped. Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

User feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience overall, with many drivers describing it as a car they can count on over the long term. At the same time, some owners mention maintenance costs and the high prices for used examples, so your ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about keeping up with premium-car upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,366 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $26,005 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,814 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The model's luxury appeal and strong feature content should still help it stay desirable among used shoppers who want a premium sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2017 if you want a well-liked luxury sedan with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better fit when you want a balance of modern feel, premium features, and market value.
