This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 113 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $26,302 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,005 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make future resale a little more competitive if you plan to sell later. For you, that means buying well matters: a clean example purchased at the right price gives you a better chance of limiting depreciation pain. Strong demand for a luxury car with broad appeal can help support values, but the current trend still favours careful shopping over paying a premium.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2017 is a sensible place to focus your search. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017’s stronger market position and broad appeal.
