Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its classic styling, reliability, and comfortable drive, while many also highlight the performance of the 6-cylinder engine and the fun experience behind the wheel. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury mid-size car that feels current and polished, with a cabin and feature set that still hold up well. Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

The owner feedback points to a car that many people find reliable, dependable, and comfortable to live with over time. That said, some owners have reported issues with dealership transparency regarding vehicle condition, so a careful pre-purchase inspection still matters. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s overall reputation and more about finding one with clear maintenance history and sound condition.

The current average of $22,469 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,080 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices do not rebound. The current range suggests the market is still adjusting, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a well-equipped luxury sedan with broad appeal, solid owner satisfaction, and a market that currently offers some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2016 stands out as the better pick when you want a balance of modern feel and used-market value.
