Is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Generally — the 4.12/5 user rating points to a model that many owners have found worthwhile. Drivers commonly praise its sporty feel, comfortable interior, and convenient size, and the available heated seats and steering wheel also come up as appealing everyday features. In the context of the Cherokee’s compact-SUV role, that makes it a practical fit if you want a vehicle that blends comfort with a bit of personality. With 23.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you may also find some attractive options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.12/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many shoppers, with comments that highlight the Cherokee as a vehicle people can count on for daily use. At the same time, some drivers raised concerns about build quality, especially around the engine and transmission, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and how the vehicle drives on a test route. For long-term ownership, that means the risk is manageable, but only if you choose a well-maintained example.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.

If you find a listing below $12,008 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $12,104 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,038 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Cherokee has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.12/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you’re price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2016 is the better starting point when you want a balance of owner satisfaction and current value.
