The 2016 Jeep Cherokee stands out as a compact SUV that tried to blend everyday usability with genuine Jeep character. It used a front-wheel-drive-based drivetrain and lacked solid axles, so it was not as capable off-road as the old Cherokee, but Jeep still gave it a low-range transfer case on some trims and a rear differential lock on the Trailhawk. That combination made it more adventurous than many small crossovers, even if the Trailhawk still was not as capable as a base Cherokee from 2001.
For 2016, Jeep added Siri Eyes Free and a customizable menu bar for Uconnect 8.4 systems, along with a modified steering column and front seats for greater comfort. The Cherokee also came with a 5-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5.0 infotainment software and voice recognition, plus standard safety equipment such as front knee airbags and rear side airbags. My husband and I absolutely enjoy this new car of ours. This is the vehicle we want and need. The features are perfect and everything works great, though we had to replace the brakes, spark plugs , and a few other things. The vehicle is in excellent condition and still looks new. The interior is beautiful. It’s the best vehicle for all of the driving that we do.
