• Trim level: The base car is the most stripped-down version, while the V6 Premium adds leather upholstery, the SYNC system, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, aluminium interior trim, a premium audio package with satellite radio service, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Which 2014 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2014 Ford Mustang is offered in 3 trim levels: base, V6 Premium, GT.

Here's the short version:

• V6 Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want a more comfortable daily driver. It adds leather upholstery, the SYNC system, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, aluminium interior trim, a premium audio package with satellite radio service, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
• GT: Choose this if performance matters most. It brings the 5.0-litre V8, Brembo brakes, a rear spoiler, upgraded audio, HID headlights, and larger alloy wheels, making it the clear pick for buyers who want the strongest Mustang character.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. Should I buy a 2014 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 feels like the most refined version of the classic Mustang before the redesign.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $23,151 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $18,812 CAD average.
• It brings a major redesign with stronger technology and broader appeal.

The bottom line: Buy the 2014 if you want the better value and a mature, well-developed Mustang experience. If you’re willing to spend more for a redesigned model with a bigger step forward in technology and dynamics, the 2015 is the upgrade path to consider.
