Reviews Summary

The 2024 Land Cruiser is an all-new model. Its coming was presaged by the Lexus GX with which it shares a platform, but Toyota made sure that this midsize SUV falls squarely in its own segment.

Verdict: The new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is the latest in a spate of automotive reboots, and it just may be the best of them. The new Land Cruiser combines retro styling and excellent off-road capability with the latest in comfort and convenience and, of course, brand heritage. But Toyota may be relying too heavily on the revered nameplate to justify the price, particularly since it’s changed some of the fundamental characteristics of the model.

Reviews Summary

The all-new, third-generation X1 subcompact crossover is zippy and fun enough to be worthy of the distinction, but with new capability and plenty of cargo space, it’s bringing the utility, too.

2023 BMW X1

9/10

The 2023 BMW X1 presented itself as a refined evolution of its predecessor, maintaining its recognizable X1 identity while enhancing its robustness and sophistication. The larger, squarer kidney grille was a subtle yet assertive update, and the flush door handles, standard LED headlights, and reimagined L-shaped taillights added to its modern appeal. The expanded colour palette, including vibrant new options like Blue Bay Lagoon and Utah Orange, offered a refreshing change from the previous monochrome selections. Inside, the X1's cabin exuded a premium feel with its BMW Curved Display and SensaTec 2.0 seat coverings, complemented by the M Sport Package's sport seats and leather steering wheel. The panoramic moonroof and sleek interior design elements contributed to a sophisticated yet functional environment.

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, with its iconic boxy design and flat roof, paid homage to its heritage while incorporating modern elements. The heritage grille and LED lighting, including round headlights on the First Edition, were nods to past models, while the lowered beltline improved visibility. The Land Cruiser's interior focused on comfort and capability, with SofTex or leather seats, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel standard across trims. The cabin's design echoed Toyota's truck lineup, with cushy seats and contrast stitching enhancing comfort. The centre console housed controls for off-road features, and the cargo area, equipped with a rubber mat and 120-volt AC outlet, emphasized practicality.
