The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban adopted Chevrolet's full-size truck design language, giving it a bold and imposing presence. The RST trim, with its Cherry Red Tintcoat and black-painted 22-inch wheels, presented a sporty look, enhanced by a monochromatic black grille and RST-specific badging. Inside, the Suburban provided a spacious cabin ranging from comfortable to luxurious, with leather seats standard from the LT trim. The RST's interior featured Jet Black perforated leather seats with Victory Red stitching, though the predominantly black interior felt somewhat dark despite chrome accents.

Despite its rugged charm, the Wrangler's interior was basic, with durable cloth upholstery and practical features like floor drain plugs.

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban offered three engine choices: a 5.3-litre V8, a 6.2-litre V8, and a 3.0-litre turbodiesel inline-six, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 5.3-litre V8 produced 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the 6.2-litre V8 delivered 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. The new 3.0-litre diesel engine offered 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, providing excellent fuel efficiency. The RST test vehicle featured the 6.2-litre V8 and Magnetic Ride Control, offering effortless power and acceleration. The Suburban's maximum towing capacity was 3,765 kilograms, making it a capable hauler.

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler was equipped with a 3.6-litre V6 engine with eTorque mild-hybrid electrification, producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It featured an eight-speed automatic transmission and Selec-Trac full-time 4WD. The Wrangler averaged 14.0 L/100 km over a week of driving, highlighting its thirst for fuel. Most models offered seven- or eight-passenger seating, with a livable third row providing ample headroom and legroom. The Suburban boasted 1,175 litres of cargo space behind the third row, expanding to 4,097 litres with seats folded flat. Features like a power-sliding centre console and hidden storage added practicality. However, its size made maneuvering and parking challenging, especially in urban areas.
