Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. For you, that means a five-passenger SUV that aims to feel upscale without being flashy, while still delivering standard safety technology and fuel-efficient powertrains.

32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60’s reliability story is anchored by Volvo’s emphasis on standard safety technology and the model’s long-running focus on safety and efficiency. It also continues with the second-generation formula of four-cylinder powertrains and a plug-in hybrid option, which keeps the lineup familiar for used shoppers.

For long-term ownership, you should still weigh the XC60’s premium positioning carefully, since a luxury SUV can bring higher repair and maintenance exposure than a mainstream alternative.

• Inventory: There are 143 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.55% compared with last year.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $59,893 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,750 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the XC60 has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well your vehicle is equipped. If you buy at the right price today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.55% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a larger, faster infotainment screen with a more modern interface.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary path if you want a softer-priced XC60 with decent deal availability and a familiar feature set. If you’re more focused on the newest cabin tech and can stretch your budget, the 2026 is the better secondary path; if not, the 2025 remains the smarter value play.
